Painting the Echo Chamber
Massachusetts Democrats are in a state of shock. How could the nation reelect the Smirking Chimp, and by a wider margin than their President for the past four years, Al Gore? The only thing Kerry was able to do better than Gore was carry his home state, even if John Edwards lost his.

Preserving Election Integrity Through Federalism
By Richard Sincere
There is no such thing as a national election in the United States.

An Affordable Boost to the Economy
Cutting the Income Tax to 5%
BOSTON – An economic analysis by the Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University finds that the Commonwealth could create thousands of new jobs and millions of dollars in new investment if, as Governor Mitt Romney proposes, the legislature would cut the income tax to 5%. Moreover, the state could increase spending in FY 2005 by 7.57% over FY 2004 even as it absorbed the loss in tax revenue that the tax cut would bring about.

$500,000,000 on the Table
by Representative Jeff Perry
Believe it or not, Massachusetts State Government has over $500 million of excess revenues. Due to a stronger than expected economy, increased fees, and the closure of several corporate tax loopholes, the Commonwealth finds itself in the enviable position of having to decide what to do with a half of a billion dollars. Furthermore, as we are approximately thirty days from the end of the Legislative session, these decisions are likely to be made in the near future.

The Cape Cod Media Wars
Is there room for another conservative newspaper?
By Walter Brooks, Editor, www.CapeCodTODAY.com
When this newspaper, Cape Cod Common Sense, was launched last Fall we equated its potential to that of the Fox News nationally. To wit; if all the other cape newspapers are "left of center" then one "right of center" newspaper would have that market segment to itself and prosper as Fox has done nationally.

Their hope was that Virgin USA would headquarter in the city, employ Boston Logan as it's initial North American hub, and create jobs here in Massachusetts.

It's Midsummer's Madness
by Barbara Anderson
The state fiscal year is coming to an end June 30th. The new fiscal year’s budget, now on Governor Romney’s desk, is officially $22.5 billion unless you count the things that have recently been taken “off budget” like MBTA spending, Medicaid and some MassHealth funding and pension costs, in which case it is $24.8 billion.
